Lawrence County, Alabama is bordered on the north by the Tennessee River, providing a valuable connection to the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway. The county provides multi-modal transportation options including airports, highways, railways and waterways. The county is accessible from major ports throughout the southeast and is bisected by U.S. Highway 72A/20, the major east-west route between Memphis and Atlanta.
