Staff / Board Members
The Industrial Development Board of Lawrence County, Alabama is a non profit organization funded to encourage industrial growth within the county. The five-member Board consists of five volunteer board members and a two-member office staff. The board is appointed by the county’s state senator, state representative and the Lawrence County Commission.

Office Staff
Luke Slaton, Executive Director
Luke Slaton has served as executive director of the LCIDB since October, 2008. Prior to joining the organization's staff, he had a 36-year career as editor and publisher of
The Moulton Advertiser. The newspaper, which is Alabama's oldest weekly, had been in his family for 61 years before he sold it in 2007. Slaton is a graduate of Lawrence County public schools, has a liberal arts degree from Athens State University and has done further study at the Economic Development Institute at the University of Oklahoma. He is a former president of the Alabama Press Association, the Alabama Council of Hospital Governing Boards and the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce. He is a graduate of Leadership Alabama, Class IX, and serves on its Shoals Area Regional Council. Slaton and his wife Kathy live in Moulton and attend St. John's Episcopal Church. They have two adult sons. He is a licensed private pilot and enjoys trout fishing, ballroom dancing and playing stand-up bass at bluegrass gatherings.

Tabitha Pace has served as office manager of the LCIDB for eleven years, beginning August 1998. Mrs. Pace is a 1994 graduate of Lawrence County High School, received a B.B.A. degree in Management of Technology from Athens State University, and also graduated from Wallace State College with an associate's degree in Health Information Management. She is certified as an Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) and serves as a member of the North Alabama Health Information Council. Tabitha completed the intensive economic development training course at Auburn University and became certified as a Business Retention and Expansion Consultant (2005-2008) by Business Retention & Expansion International. She is also involved with Lawrence County's Youth Leadership Program. Tabitha and her husband, Wayne, reside in Lawrence County with their two children, Wyatt and LeAnne. She attends Moulton Church of Christ and enjoys scrapbooking, shopping, swimming, horseback riding, and spending time with her children.
